WISH

Give a wish to someone special.

I followed the instructions.
I also wrote down my wish inside the top flap.
I wanted it to come true.
The box that contained my wish sat on my chest of drawers for weeks. Then months.
Did I give up believing my wish would come true? Did I ever really believe it? I’m not sure.
I remember it was late October and I slipped on wet leaves going to work.
By the time I came home that day, my wish had come true.
